1What we mean by cookies
A cookie is a small file a website asks your browser to keep and send back on the next visit. Websites also use similar technologies that are not cookies — local storage, which keeps a value in your browser without sending it anywhere, and, in the case of a browser extension, extension storage, which belongs to the extension rather than to any website. This notice covers all three, because what matters is what is stored and why, not what it is called.
Storage that a service cannot work without is generally called strictly necessary, and does not require consent. Everything described on this page falls into that category or is a preference you set yourself. We use no analytics, advertising or profiling storage anywhere in Readabler.
2This website
edge.readabler.com is a static site. It sets no cookies. The only thing it keeps in your browser is the language you choose from the switcher, so the page opens that way next time:

That value never leaves your browser — it is not sent to us and not shared with anyone. Like any web server, ours keeps standard request logs (IP address, time, page requested, browser user agent) for security and troubleshooting; those are logs, not cookies, and are not used to profile you.
3The extension
The extension does not use cookies for its own purposes. Your adjustments, your per-site overrides, your panel language and theme, and the result of the last subscription check live in the browser's extension storage on your device. Section 3 of the Privacy Policy describes exactly what is kept there.
The extension reads cookies in one narrow case: the sign-in and security cookies of your Readabler account domain only, so that its check with your account is made as you. Cookies belonging to the websites you visit are never read, and the extension writes no cookies to them.
4Your Readabler account
Signing in to your Readabler account sets the cookies a signed-in session needs. They are strictly necessary — without them you cannot stay signed in, and the extension cannot confirm your subscription.

Blocking these cookies means you cannot sign in, and the extension will treat you as signed out.
5Third parties
- Google Fonts — this site loads the Roboto typeface from Google's font servers. That request sets no cookies, but Google receives your IP address as part of serving the file.
- Paddle — our payment provider. Its checkout sets its own strictly necessary cookies to process the payment securely and prevent fraud, under Paddle's own cookie and privacy policies. They appear only when you go through checkout.
No advertising network, social widget or analytics provider is embedded anywhere in the extension or on this site.
6Managing and clearing
You are always in control of this storage:
- In your browser — the privacy or site-data settings let you view, block and delete cookies and local storage for any site, including ours.
- In the extension — the panel's Reset control clears your saved adjustments, and removing the extension removes its storage entirely.
- In your account — signing out ends the session and clears its cookies.
Clearing storage for this site simply forgets your language choice. Blocking the account's strictly necessary cookies will stop sign-in from working.
7Changes to this notice
If we ever add storage that is not covered here, we will update this page before doing so, and — if the new storage is not strictly necessary — we will ask for your consent first. The effective date at the top always reflects the current version.
